During Study <br /> Session held on June 22, 1998, Council directed staff to negotiate with Laidlaw Transit Service, <br /> Inc. for the transit management contract. Staff inet with Laidlaw Management and was later <br /> informed by Laidlaw of their request to withdraw its proposal. <br /> The current contract expires July 1, 1998. Staff recommends Council consider the next <br /> lowest bidder, Ryder/ATE, Inc. and that the attached resolution be passed authorizing the City <br /> Manager to execute agreement with Ryder/ATE for management of Decatur Public Transit <br /> System. <br /> Staff and Ryder/ATE representatives will be available to respond to questions. <br />
