. `
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
MEMORANDUM
98-48
May 12, 1998
To: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
From: James L. William ., City Manager
Cecil Collins, Jr., irector of Department of Community Development
Robert S. Reed, Mass Transit Administrator
Subject: Amendment to IDOT Capital Grant Agreement
The attached resolution will authorize the execution of Amendment No. 7 to capital grant
agreement No. CAP-87-303-FED between the Illinois Department of Transportation and the City
of Decatur, Illinois. The total grant project cost is $3,109,773, of which the State's share is
$621,955. The funds were for the purchase of 2 buses, the construction of the new mass transit
facility, and purchase of office equipment and support vehicles.
The grant contract has expired so Amendment No. 7 will extend the contract period to
January 1, 2000. The extension will allow the City to use State funds to correct defects at the
mass transit facility. The entire previous Agreement has been replaced so that current State and
federal grant agreement requirements can be incorporated.
