Bean,Acting Community Development Director �/) <br /> Vickie Buckingham,Neighborhood Renewal Administrator� <br /> Shelith Whiting,Neighborhood Planner���) <br /> SUBJECT: HOME Program Agreements - 1996 <br /> Community Housing Development Organization(CHDO) <br /> The City's HOME federal funds provide a 15% set-aside for housing to be developed, sponsored, <br /> or owned by a Community Housing Development Organization(CHDO). <br /> Requests for proposals were solicited for the purpose of selecting a Community Housing <br /> Development Organization(CHDO). The CHDO's purpose is to assist in carrying out <br /> multi-year housing strategies through acquisition,rehabilita.tion, new construction of housing and <br /> tenant-based rental assistance utilizing HOME funds. The HOME Program encourages <br /> municipalities to maximize participation by the private sector to implement their approved <br /> housing strategy. <br /> Two (2)responses were received from Neighborhood Housing Development Corporation <br /> (NHDC) and Near Westside Restoration and Preservation Society (NWRAPS). Staff <br /> recommends approval of agreements with NHDC and NWRAPS. <br />
