Ratekin,Assistant City Engineer <br /> SUBJECT: Annual Sewer Television Inspections <br /> City Project 9619 <br /> The Engineering Division has sought bids for the television inspection of City of Decatur <br /> sanitary sewers. This will be the first contract of an annual project to deternune the condition of <br /> City's sewers. The City has not performed routine inspection of the sanitary sewers in the past. <br /> The list of sewers to be inspected this year was generated from input from the staff at the <br /> Municipal Service Center (MSC). Each time the MSC receives a sewer backup call, the call is <br /> recorded and tracked. This year's list also targets several areas suspected of high inflow and <br /> infiltration rates. City staff will be attempting to inspect the sewers that may be causing the City <br /> the most problems. The results of the inspection will be used in determining repairs to be made <br /> and replacements of existing sanitary sewers. <br /> Bids were received on February 21, 1997, for the subject project.
