, _ , * � AGREEMENT This Agreemen# is made between the City of Decatur, Iliinois ("City"), a municipal corporation, Macon County, Illinois, ("C�unty"), and the Village of Mt. Zion, Illinois, ("Village"), a municipal corporation, body politics and units of iocal government. WHEREAS, the City, County and the Village are units of local government, as defined by ArEicle VII, Section 1 of the Consfitufion of the State of Iliinois ("Consfitution"); and, WHEREAS, the City, the County and the Village are authorized and emp�wered by Article VII, Section 10 of the Constitufion and the Intergovernmental Cooperation Act, 5 ILCS 22011 et. seq., to enter into intergovernmental agreements; and, WHEREAS, the City, the County and the Village utilize a common Communication Dispatch Center ("Center") which is the emergency dispatch ' , center for the emergency services of the par�ies; and, l WHEREAS, the City, the County and the Viltage are par�ies to an Agreement previ�usly entered into in which the City is responsible for the operation of the Center, owns the equipment used in the operation of the Center and employs the employees of the Center; and, WHEREAS, the County is responsibfe under an Agreernent with the Ci#y for the preservation and retention of police records and reports; ancl, WHEREAS, the City, the County and the Viflage recognize and a�ree that the software currently utilitzed by the Center requires updating and replacing in order to provide an ef�icent and reliable system for dispatching emergency services and report writing; and, WHEREAS, the City, the County and the Village agree that they wil( each benefit by a software upgrade to the dispatch and report writing system currently utifized. NOW THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the promises and covenants made herein and for their mutual benefit and the benefit of the public, industry and business, the City, the County and the Viflage agree as follows: l .
