Country Club Road: Install approximately 130 feet of slotted drain pipe with inlets near 98 <br /> North Country Club Road. <br /> Public Letting Results <br /> The project specifications were prepared by the Public Works Department. The project was <br /> advertised Wednesday, May 18, 2016, and bids were opened on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. The <br /> results from the letting are as follows: <br /> Compared to Engineer's Est. <br /> Bidder Bid Price Over/Under <br /> Kinney Contractors,Inc. $210,675.00 -1.42% <br /> Burdick Plumbing&Heating Co., Inc. $212,868.00 -0.40% <br /> Entler Excavating Company, Inc. $246,959.00 15.56% <br /> En ineer's Estimate $213,714.00 ----- <br /> Three contractors took out bid packages and all three contractors submitted a bid proposal for the <br /> 2016 Storm Drainage Improvement Project. Kinney Contractors, Inc. provided the lowest <br /> responsive and responsible bid at (1.42%)below the Engineer's Estimate. Kinney has successfully <br /> completed several projects for the City and adheres to the prevailing wage rate requirements of the <br /> State of Illinois. Staff recommends that the City Council approve a contract with Kinney <br /> Contractors, Inc. to perform the 2016 Storm Drainage Improvement Project. j <br /> MINORITY PARTICIPATION GOALS: �I <br /> Contractors for City Projects shall comply with City Code Chapter 28, Article 10, "Minority I, <br /> Participation Goals for Public Works Contracts." <br /> Contractors for City projects shall make a good faith effort to comply with the following minimum <br /> goals: <br /> 1. Ten(10)percent of the total dollar amount of the contract should be performed by Minority <br /> Business Enterprises if subcontracting opportunities are available; and, <br /> 2. Eighteen (18) percent of the total hours worked should be perfortned by minority workers. <br /> Subcontracting is not required for a City project.
