PUBLIC WORKS MEMORANDUM <br /> NO. 2016-39 <br /> DATE: June 9, 2016 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Tim Gleason, City Manager <br /> Richard G. Marley, P.E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Removing No Parking Restriction on the South Side of the 600 Block <br /> of East Center Street <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance authorizing on-street parking on the south <br /> side of the 600 block of East Center Street as recommended by the Traffic and Parking Commission. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> May 26, 2016—Traffic and Parking Commission voted to recommend allowing on-street parking on <br /> the south side of the 500 block of East Center Street, which was requested by Mr. Gordon Moore <br /> who owns 615 E. Center Street. Letters were sent to the other residents on the block and no <br /> objections were made. Parking is currently allowed on the north side of the street. <br /> SCHEDULE: Removal of the signs is normally completed within 10 days of Council <br /> authorization. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Staffing Impact: Approximately 1 hour of staff time will be used to remove the current No <br /> Parking signs. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: No objections anticipated. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Traffic and Parking Commission <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director and Matt Newell, City Engineer, at <br /> 424-2747.
