Marley, P.E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Traffic Control Ordinances Authorizing the Installation of Stop Signs at the <br /> Intersection of: <br /> 1) North Illinois Street with East Elmhurst Avenue Facing East Elmhurst Avenue <br /> 2) North Illinois Street with East Harrison Avenue Facing East Harrison Avenue <br /> 3) North Illinois Street with East Mueller Avenue Facing East Mueller Avenue <br /> 4) North Illinois Street with East Curtis Avenue Facing East Curtis Avenue <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinances authorizing the installation of stop <br /> signs at the intersections of North Illinois Street and East Elmhurst Avenue with signs facing <br /> Elmhurst, North Illinois Street and East Harrison Avenue with signs facing Harrison, North <br /> Illinois Street and East Mueller Avenue with signs facing Mueller, and North Illinois Street and <br /> East Curtis Avenue with signs facing Curtis. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> May 26, 2016—Traffic & Parking Commission approved a request from City staff <br /> recommending that the existing yield signs at the intersections of North Illinois Street with East <br /> Elmhurst Avenue, East Harrison Avenue, East Mueller Avenue, and East Curtis Avenue be <br /> replaced with stop signs. <br /> The Traffic and Parking Commission's recommendation is attached with the ordinances for <br /> Council's review. <br /> SCHEDULE: Stop signs are usually installed within 10 days of approval. <br /> BUDGET AND STAFFING IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact: Budgetary impacts are approximately $1000 for the installation of the <br /> requested signs. <br /> Staffing Impact: Approximately 8 hours of staff time to make and install the signs. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: No objections anticipated. <br /> Page � 1 <br />
