Marley, P.E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Authorizing the Installation of Stop Signs at the Intersection of <br /> South Illinois Street and East Lincoln Avenue Facing East Lincoln Avenue <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance authorizing the installation of stop <br /> signs at the intersection of South Illinois Street and East Lincoln Avenue facing East Lincoln <br /> Avenue. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Apri129, 2016—Interim Chief of Police James Getz issued a Temporary Stop Intersection at the <br /> intersection of South Illinois Street and East Lincoln Avenue with stop signs facing East Lincoln <br /> Avenue installed shortly after the Temporary Stop Intersection was issued. <br /> May 26, 2016—Traffic & Parking Commission approved a request from City staff <br /> recommending that the stop signs installed be made permanent at the intersection of South <br /> Illinois Street and East Lincoln Avenue with the stop signs facing East Lincoln Avenue. <br /> The Traffic and Parking Commission's recommendation is attached with the ordinance for <br /> Council's review. <br /> SCHEDULE: Stop signs have already been installed and will remain there if approved by <br /> Council. <br /> BUDGET AND STAFFING IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact: Budgetary impacts are approximately $250 for the installation of the requested <br /> signs and pavement markings. <br /> Staffing Impact: Approximately 2 hours of staff time to make and install the signs. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: No objections anticipated. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER�OURCES: Traffic and Parking Commission <br /> Page � 1 <br />
