.DfC'
 c
' v e
' %[LINO`'

August 26, 1996
PUBLIC WORKS MEMORANDUM
NO. 96-55
MEMORANDUM TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: William B. Sands,Interim City Manager
Bruce A. McNabb,Director of Public orks

Stephen P. Swanson, City Engineer%7
SUBJECT: Aggregate Shoulder Construction
City Project 9611
The Aggregate Shoulder Construction project involves the restoration of road shoulders
along ruadways that have been overlaid and a drop-off has developed along the edge of pavement.
Bids on this work were received and opened on August 26, 1996. The results of the letting are as
follows:
, Compared to
Engineer's Est.
Bidder Bid Price Over(-Under)
Engineer's Estimate $ 43,500.00 ---
Dunn Company $ 44,250.00 1.72
We recommend award of the contract to the low bidder, Dunn Company, at their low bid
price of $ 44,250.00. This recommendation of award, based on the receipt of one bid, is
considered reasonable in this case given the historic number of contractors submitting bids for this
type of work.
City staff will be available to answer any questions that the Council may have at the meeting.
