Bean,Neighborhood Services ManagerlL,
SUBJECT: HOME Program Agreements- 1995
Community Housing Development Organization(CHDO)
Requests for proposals were solicited for the purpose of selecting a Community Housing
Development Organization(CHDO). The CHDO's purpose is to assist in carrying out multi-year
housing strategies through acquisition, rehabilitation, new construction of housing and
tenant-based rental assistance utilizing Federal HOME funds. The HOME Program encourages
municipalities to mimize participation by the private sector to implement their approved
housing strategy.
Three (3) responses were received from Neighborhood Housing Development Corporation
(NHDC),Near Westside Restoration and Preservation Society (NWRAPS) and United
Fellowship Church. Staff recommends approval of agreement with NHDC and NWRAPS.
United Fellowship Church lacks a tax exempt ruling from the IRS under sections 501 (c) (3) or
(4). This is a program requirement.
