COUNCIL MEMORANDUM <br /> #96-19 <br /> March 25, 1996 <br /> TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Daniel R. Sommerfeldt, Acting City Manage�'�.�� <br /> � <br /> RE: SummerStart Street Closure <br /> The City Manager's office received a request from the SummerStart Board of Directors to <br /> consider closing Lake Shore Drive at an eartier hour on the Friday preceding the Memorial Day <br /> weekend events. After consultation with both the City's Traffic Engineer Matt Newell and IDOT <br /> officials, it was agreed to honor the request pursuant to Council approval. The request was made <br /> by SummerStart representatives to help defray those costs associated with the late evening hour <br /> setup required by electricians and others. <br /> SummerStart representatives will be available Monday evening to answer any questions. <br /> Staff recommends approval of the attached resolution. <br /> Attachment <br /> cc: Matthew C.
