Perry,Purchasing Supervisor� <br /> SUBJECT: OUTDOOR EMERGENCY WARNING SIRENS <br /> Attached you will find a bid summary for outdoor emergency warning sirens for the Traffic <br /> Control Division of the Public Works Department. <br /> These 20 sirens will replace 18 existing sirens in use as well as provide 2 additional sirens. The <br /> new sirens will be more reliable and provide better coverage than the old. The new sirens are also � <br /> battery operated so they would be more dependable compared to electric during storms. <br /> It is the staff recommendation to accept American Signal's bid to furnish five (5) 1996 Model <br /> RM-130-DC outdoor emergency warning sirens for$41,365.00. <br /> In addition, staff recommends purchasing five or more sirens as funds allow, after the new fiscal <br /> year starts May 1, 1996.
