Keeping an
up-to-date"base map"of the city allows city staff to provide quicker responses to residents and more detailed analyses for long-
range projects. City staff uses the imagery daily for verifying locations in code enforcement cases, preparing fire response plans,
writing building permits, maintaining city property, and other functions. The city has partnered with Macon County and the
Emergency Telephone Safety Board in five previous efforts(2005,2007,2009,2012 and 2014)in acquiring high-resolution aerial
imagery to supplement each of their Geographic Information Systems.
PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: The city has partnered with Macon County and the Emergency Telephone Safety Board in five
previous efforts(2005,2007,2009,2012 and 2014)where purchase was approved.
POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None anticipated.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None.
STAFF REFERENCE: James Edwards,MIS Manager(450-2236)
BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS:
This item was budgeted for$28,491 in the GIS line item contained in the fiscal year 2016 MIS budget. The cost incurred by ETSB
increased 4.83% over the previous fly-over in 2014. The additional cost of$1,376 will be absorbed and balanced from other
monies in the MIS budget.
ATTACHMENTS:
Description Type
Resolution Letter Kcsululiun I,rllrr
ETSB Pictometry Invoice lacku(aterial
https://decatur.novusagenda.com/AgendaWeb/CoverSheet.aspx?ItemID=722 7/1/2016
