Bacon,Jr., City Manager ` .
Bruce A. McNabb, Director of Public Works(U'
SUBJECT: City Project 9506
Base Failure Repairs
Bids were received on July 13, 1995, for the subject project. The results of the letting are as
follows:
Compazed to
Bidder Bid Price Engineer's Est.
Over(-Under
Engineer's Estimate $ 57,470.00 ---
Dunn Company 63,417.50 10.35
The bid is 10.35 percent over the Engineer's Estimate. Review of the bid determined that the
estimate for the special base failure repair for the removal of railroad tracks on E. Wood Street
was underestimated by about $4,800. This is considered fair compensation for the work involved.
We recommend award of the contract to the low bidder, Dunn Company, at their low bid price of
$63,417.50.
City staffwill be available to answer any questions that the Council may have at the meeting.
