. . . - , , � � s - � � <br /> .. . , <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Decatur, Illinois, desires to cooperate with the Macon County Soil <br /> and Water Conservation District to encourage, promote and establish good soil and water <br /> conservation practices in the Lake Decatur Watershed area to keep the soil on the land and out of <br /> the Lake. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED by and between the District and the City as follows: <br /> 1) The term of this Agreement is for twelve (12) months, commencing May l, 1995, and <br /> ending Apri; 30, 1996. <br /> 2) Ninety (90) days prior to the expiration of said term, the City will consider renewal of <br /> the Agreement for an additional one-year term. <br /> 3) The District will, when submitted in a timely manner, provide to the City research, <br /> review and recommendations for Lower Lake Decatur Watershed Resource Planning Committee <br /> and subcommittee activities, watershed nitrate management alternatives, Decatur Advantage II <br /> action plans regarding Lake Decatur, City water well field activities, and other City staff requests. <br /> The City recognizes that the recommendations may require District Board approval. <br /> 4) The District will plan and present at least twelve soil and water conservation public <br /> education programs and promotions during said term. The programs will be directed at both <br /> urban and rural landowners in the Lake Decatur Watershed. <br /> 5) The City will pay to the District in twelve equal monthly installments during said term <br /> the total sum of$46,500. <br /> 6) The District shall apply said sum to administrative expenses, employment of a full-time, <br /> or full-time equivalent, Lake Decatur Watershed Specialist, a part-time Soil Conservation <br /> Technician, and to soil and water conservation education programs and promotions. <br /> 7) The District shall prepare and submit to the City quarterly reports showing the amounts, <br /> application, and manner of use of funds paid to it by the City, and shall permit the City to examine <br /> its books and records upon reasonable notice and during customary business hours. <br />
