Anderson Plaza Decatur, Illinois 62523-1196 Dear Mr. McNabb: Bids were received on November 9, 1994 at 10:00 a.m. for the construction of City Project No. 8918E, Lake Decatur Dam Improvements, Spillway Concrete Rehabilitation. From the twelve contractors and suppliers attending the prebid conference, three bids were received and publicly read aloud. We have reviewed the bids and attached a copy of the bid tabulation. Please note the error by Gerace Construction Co. , Inc. There were no errors by the other bidders. The low bidder signed and dated the bid, attached the 5 percent bid bond, and acknowledged receipt of all addenda. The low bidder furnished a list of projects under construction or completed during the last five years. This list included projects having a construction value of $100,000 to $4,400,000. The projects included ten for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers District Offices at Kansas City, Missouri ; Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; Davenport, Iowa; and Little Rock, Arkansas. It also included a project for the E. I . Dupont at Parkersburg, West Virginia; four projects for railroad companies; and fifteen projects for the Missouri Department of Highway and Transportation. The Corps of Engineers projects included construction of a concrete training wall below the dam at the Harry S. Truman Reservoir and concrete work at Lock & Dam No. 14, Scott County, Iowa and Lock and Dam No. 16, Rock Island County, Illinois. Several of the listed references were called and commented favorably regarding creativity, cooperation, safety, attention to detail and scheduling.
