, w
. , w
The Honorable Erik C. Brechnitz, Mayor Page 2
and
The City Council
April 28, 1993
If acceptable to you, the University' s tentative schedule is to
initially present the refunding project to the City Council on May
3 , 1993, to consider the refinancing project at the University' s
Board of Trustee's meeting on May 22, 1993 and to hold a TEFRA
Hearing on May 24, 1993 . We enclose a form of Notice of Public
Hearing (TEFRA Hearing Notice) for your approval. If the TEFRA
Hearing is successful, the issuance of the refunding revenue bonds
would be immediately submitted to the City Council for its
approval. If the refunding project is approved by the City Council
on May 24 , 1993 , then documents would be finalized and the bonds
marketed.
The University has engaged First Chicago Capital Markets, Inc. (a
subsidiary of First Chicago Corporation) as its underwriter and
will be using Chapman & Cutler as bond counsel and Samuels, Miller,
Schroeder, Jackson & Sly as local counsel. We look forward to
working with you, John Couter and the City staff.
Millikin University appreciates the financial accommodations which
the City of Decatur has extended to it in the past and looks
forward to a successful completion of its current refinancing
project. Thank you.
Very truly yours,
MILLIKIN UNIVERSITY
,f`'fit /Eyf'-iL`.1.-•-
:
John R. Hauser
Vice President for Finance & Business Affairs
Enclosures:
cc: John W. Couter, Esq.
