Perry, Purchasing Supervisor�� <br /> SUBJECT: SNOW PLOW BIDS <br /> Attached you will find a bid summary for two (2 ) snow plows . <br /> These will be used in conjunction with the two new dump <br /> trucks for the Street Division. <br /> The low bid of Central Equipment and the second low bid of <br /> Prairie International are for furnishing the identical model <br /> of snow plows. It has been my experience, when different <br /> vendors provide pieces of equipment which work together such <br /> as this, if something goes wrong with one piece , each claims <br /> it is the others responsibility. It seems logical to also <br /> let Prairie International provide the snow plows considering <br /> there is such a small cost difference of $5 . 70 between the <br /> bidders . In addition, delivery will be easier to coordinate <br /> if one company provides both trucks and plows . <br /> It is the staff recommendation to accept the second low bid <br /> of Prairie Internatio,nal to furnish two ( 2 ) Lawton <br /> R01036/1993 snow plows for $7550 . 00 . <br /> cc: Beth Couter <br />
