♦
]
y O
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
MEMORANDUM
92-128
June 24, 1992
To: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
From: James C. Bacon, Jr. , City Manager
David A. Clark, Director of Department of Community
Development
Robert S. Reed, Mass Transit Administrator
Subject: Amended FTA Capital Grant Application
On May 4, 1992 , the City Council authorized the filing of a
$740,730 capital grant application with the Federal Transit
Administration. The grant application was for additional funding
for the proposed mass transit facility project and for purchase
of supervisory vehicles, a private telephone system, and office
equipment.
The State of Illinois Department of Transportation, as
designated recipient of federal mass transit funds for urbanized
areas under 200 ,000 population, has requested that the scope of
the project be revised. Specifically, the State has asked that
$400 ,000 ($320 ,000 FTA) be deleted from the construction line
item and be added to a new line item for purchase of 2 new buses.
There will be no change in the total amount of funds originally
requested.
Therefore, this resolution will authorize the filing of an
amended Section 9 capital grant application with the Federal
Transit Administration. Said application will contain the
revised scope of project as outlined above. Total project costs
are estimated at $925 ,912, with the federal agency providing the
$740,730 and the State funding the remaining $185,182 .
dmu
