PURCHASING & INTERNAL SERVICES MEMORANDUM <br /> #92 - 22 <br /> April 9, 1992 <br /> TO: James C. Bacon, Jr. , City Manager <br /> FROM: Deborah M. Perry, Purchasing Supervisor� <br /> SUBJECT: WATER TREATMENT CHEMICAL BID <br /> Attached you will find a bid summary for Water Treatment <br /> Chemicals . <br /> The price of most of the chemicals has remained very stable and <br /> for some chemicals such as : carbon, carbon dioxide, chlorine, <br /> hydrofluosilicic acid and lime, the price has gone down compared <br /> to last year. For example, chlorine went down in price by $75 per <br /> ton as compared with last year' s cost . Based on the estimated <br /> annual usage of 115 tons , that is a decrease of� $8625 . The <br /> chemical we use the most of is lime. Lime, also went down in <br /> price by $1 .75 per ton as compared with last year' s cost . Based <br /> on the estimated annual usage of 7000 tons that is a decrease of <br /> $12 ,250 . <br /> It is the staff recommendation to accept the low bids listed on I <br /> Exhibit A for each of the Water Treatment Chemicals for May 1 , ' <br /> 1992 - April 30, 1993 as followse <br /> cc: Beth Couter I, <br />
