Sands, Director of Public Works � SUBJECT: Engineering Agreement - M. L. King, Jr. Drive - Mound Road to Pershing Road City Project 9213 An item on the agenda for the meeting of Monday, February 17, 1992, is a resolution approving an Engineering Agreement with Blank, Wesselink, Cook and Associates for the design of the subject project. The project will be a sharing type arrangement with WVP, Inc. , in which WVP will serve as a sub-consultant to Blank, Wesselink, Cook and Associates, prime consultant, in the design of a new bridge over Spring Creek. The bridge portion of the project amounts to approximately 20 to 30 percent based on estimated construction costs and size of the fee to be earned by the respective firms. The selection process evolved initially by a Request For Proposal process in which the four contending lead firms met with the City Consultant Selection Committee to outline the selection process and determine interest from the firms. After receipt of proposals from the four firms, the Committee met to evaluate the proposals. It was decided to recommend BWC, with the understanding they would utilize WVP as sub-consultant for the bridge, WVP having had extensive experience in the design of such type structures. The total fee for the project will be a standard lump sum type contract of $113 ,500 , including the bridge and the roadway. A copy of the proposed agreement is attached. All of the consultants involved in the process have been notified of the City staff' s recommendation to Council. Staff will be available to answer any questions that the Council may have at the meeting.
