The providers of dav care services must provide <br /> a protective setting that maximizes the safety of the paricipant, ninimizes the <br /> " amour_t of disorientation experienced by the parr'cipant �i1d prevents <br /> partic�.pants from wandering off the grounds. <br /> Adult cay care provides an or?anized and continually supe:vised pro�am of <br /> supporve health. and social services and activiries to individuals wno are <br /> functionally impaired for the purpose of encourag:ng and maintaining optimal <br /> capaciti for self-care. At a minimum, the followin; se:vic�s are requi:ed to <br /> be inc:�ded in an adult day care pro�ram: <br /> 1. Pe:sonal care services inciude assistance with acti�ities of daily Iivin� (e.g., <br /> walking, eatina, toile:ing, a ooming) and supe:vision of pe:sonal hv�ene. <br /> 2. �+utrition services iric:ude a minimum of one meal pe: day whic� is of <br /> s�itable qualiry and quantity and supglies at Ieas: 1i3 of the daily <br /> nutritional require�ent. Special dieu and supplemeztal meals are to be � <br /> nade availabie if indicated by a paric;pant's approved plan of care. <br /> 3. Social work services include counseling services designed to promote <br /> rna�dmum levels of physical and mental func�ioning by providing <br /> psycholo�ical suppor to deal with particuIar personal and social_�roblems. <br /> 4. Parcicipant activity services inelude planned recreational and social <br /> acrivities suited to the needs of participants and designed to encourage <br /> pnysical and mental exercise and stimulate social inte:action. <br /> 5. T:ansportarion services include a participant's transportarion between <br /> his/her home and the program faciiity. Transportation may be provided <br /> directly or by agreement or contract with another communiry agency or <br /> local specialized transportarion service. <br /> Transportation services must be able to accommodate participanu who <br /> are wheelchair bound.
