COUNCIL MEMORANDUM <br /> #91-16 <br /> February 14 , 1991 <br /> TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Daniel R. Sommerfeldt, Acting City Manager/�N <br /> Jerry Bauer, Risk Manager <br /> RE: Public Officials ' Liability Insurance Renewal <br /> Application <br /> Attached is a resolution authorizing the application for <br /> renewal of the City' s public officials ' liability insurance <br /> policy with National Union Fire Insurance Company. A similar <br /> resolution was passed by the Council last year at this time. <br /> This policy has now been in effect since May of 1986 . It is <br /> a primary policy, written on a claims-made basis, with a <br /> $1 ,000 ,000 limit, and $10 ,000 deductible. It provides coverage <br /> for council , board and commission members, and city employees. <br /> It is a separate policy from the City' s Lloyds of London <br /> "package, " which provides excess coverage for the City's general <br /> liability exposures. <br /> This past year' s premium was $22 ,428 . The City' s broker, <br /> Arthur Gallagher & Company, indicated that it will search the <br /> market to determine if more competitive rates can be obtained <br /> upon renewal. <br /> Attachment <br />
