Sands ::i;`ieid Iliinois
Director of Public Works
City of Decatur
No. 1, Civic Center Plaza
Decatur, IL 62523
RE: DeWitt County Well Field Expansion
Dear Mr. Sands:
We are pleased to submit our proposal for the expansion of the '
DeWitt County Well Field, which would consist of the drilling of
new Water Supply Wel ls 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Our proposal is I
based on our meeting with Mr. John Guillou, Guillou and Associates,
Inc. , and their preliminary draft of the Project No. 8843
specifications.
The drilling of the six (6) additional Water Supply Wells would be
similar in construction to Wells 3 and 4 which we drilled last
fall. We would utilize our Failing Jed B Rig to drill the wells by
the Reverse Rotary Circulation Method. Our proposal is based on
the assumption that the sites will be accessible to our equipment
with any site work needed or crop damage responsibility borne by
the City. We also assume that water will be furnished for the
drilling from existing City wells and that any temporary easements,
pipelines, etc. , necessary to connect the two tracts of land will
be done by the City. Our proposal is based on being allowed to
work 24 hours per day.
The wells will be drilled and constructed per Figures 2-4 in the
specification booklet. We will develop each well for a maximum
period of 10 hours and provide test pumping equipment for 24 hour
production tests on each well. More or Iess test pumping or
development would be performed at the quoted hourly rate. We
assume that the water discharge during the development and testing
could be done to a point within 150 ' of each well site.
