ORDINANCE NO. 2016- 50 <br /> ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR <br /> ON PUBLIC RIGHTS-OF-WAY AND IN CENTRAL PARK <br /> -DECATUR CELEBRATION- <br /> WHEREAS,the Decatur Celebration, a community summer festival of games, shows and food, <br /> will be held on the public streets and in Central Park in downtown Decatur beginning Friday,August 5, <br /> 2015 and continuing through Sunday,August 7, 2015; and, <br /> WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Decatur Celebration to offer the following alcoholic <br /> beverages: beer,various wines, wine coolers and craft beers, for sale to its patrons for consumption at the <br /> Celebration; and, <br /> WHEREAS, such consumption of alcoholic liquor on public rights-of-way and in Central Park <br /> requires the express approval of the City Council; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the Decatur Celebration and <br /> of the City of Decatur that such consumption of alcoholic liquor as described be permitted for said limited <br /> time period. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECATUR,ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That on the days listed herein, and only on such days,between the hours listed opposite <br /> each,the above named alcoholic beverages only may be consumed at, in or on those portions of public <br /> rights-of-way described in Section 2 hereof,and in Central Park located in downtown Decatur, said days <br /> and hours being particularly described as follows: <br /> Friday,August 5,2015 5:00 p.m. -11:00 p.m. <br /> Saturday, August 6, 2015 11:00 a.m.— 11:00 p.m. <br /> Sunday,August 7,2015 11:00 a.m.—9:30 p.m. <br /> Section 2. That those portions of public rights-of-way at, in, or on which the above named <br /> alcoholic liquor may be consumed, on the days and during the hours listed in Section 1 hereof, are <br /> described as follows: <br /> Central Park <br /> East Side of Franklin near North Street <br /> West Side of Franklin near William Street <br /> Corner of William& Water Streets <br /> West Side of Franklin near North Park Street <br /> South Park Street near Franklin <br /> Prairie Street near Merchant <br /> North Street near Franklin <br /> North Franklin Street on the Civic Center Concrete <br /> Corner of William&Water Streets <br /> South Park Street near Franklin <br /> Merchant Street near Prairie <br /> Franklin Street near Prairie <br />
