Item Coversheet Page 1 of 1 <br /> � <br /> City Clerk <br /> DATE: 7/13/2016 <br /> MEMO: 2016-18 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Tim Gleason,City Manager <br /> SUBJECT: Consumption of Alcoholic Liquor-Decatur Celebration <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the attached Ordinance Authorizing Consumption of <br /> Alcoholic Liquor on Public Rights-of-Way and in Central Park for the 2016 Decatur Celebration. <br /> BACKGROUND: This is the annual request for authorization to permit the consumption of alcoholic drinks at the Decatur <br /> Celebration.Of particular importance this year is that Decatur Celebration is requesting Council's approval to extend the hours of <br /> consumption of alcohol to 12:00 a.m.(midnight)on Friday,August 5,2016 and Saturday,August 6,2016.In previous years,the <br /> cutoff time was 11:00 p.m.each night.In addition,Decatur Celebration requests to change the start time of alcohol sales from <br /> 11:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m.(noon)on Sunday,August 7,2016.The proposed changes by the Decatur Celebration are expected to <br /> generate additional revenue for the event. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objectors to this request. <br />, INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Lori Sturgill,Producer/Director of the Decatur Celebration;Phone:423-4222. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Assistant City Manager Jerry Bauer,Phone:424-2801;and City Clerk Debbie Bright,Phone:424-2708. <br />' BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: It is anticipated that some additional overtime expense will be generated by these changes; <br /> however,they can be covered in the current departmental budgets. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br />', Description Type <br /> Ordinance Or�iinancc <br /> https://decatur.novusagenda.com/AgendaWeb/CoverSheet.aspx?ItemID=743 7/18/2016 <br />
