r ,
,
. „. .
COUNCIL MEMORANDUM
#90-09
January 31 , 1990
TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
FROM: James C. Ba n, Jr. , City Manager
RE: Land Sale to County Health Department
The attached agreement and resolution authorizing its execu-
tion were developed subsequent to a recent study session. At
that time, the Macon County Board of Health indicated that it
wished to purchase the property directly from the city rather
than to execute the terms of a resolution discussed in the spring
of 1989 . Under the earlier resolution, the Board of Health would
have been a tenant in their facility with the ability to purchase
the site at some future date.
The agreement represents a sale price which is supported by
appraisals. It also allows the City to maintain existing
sanitary sewer collection routes rather than relocating.
Staff recommends that Council adopt the attached resolution
so that the agreement can be executed.
Attachment
cc: John W. Couter
William B. Sands
Daniel R. Sommerfeldt
