. <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br /> MEMORANDUM N0. 89-123 <br /> September 12, 1989 <br /> TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br /> FROM: JAMES C. BACON, JR. , CITY MANAGER <br /> DAVID A. CLARK, DIRECTOR OF DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY <br /> DEVELOPMENT <br /> SUBJECT: IDOT MASS TRANSIT CAPITAL GRANT APPLICATION <br /> Upon City Council approval, the attached resolution will <br /> authorize the filing of an application with the Illinois Depart- <br /> ment of Transportation for a mass transit capital grant. The <br /> grant will be used for acquisition of property and for purchase <br /> of a wheelchair lift-equipped van, a bus tire changer, office <br /> equipment, a sandblaster, and computer equipment. <br /> Total project costs are estimated at $295,000 with the <br /> federal government funding 80$, or $236 ,000, of the cost and the <br /> State paying 20$, or $59,000 . It is hoped that the grant will be <br /> received by the City in early 1990 . <br />
