� � , a " <br /> g. Project means the task or set of tasks provided for in the <br /> Project Budget which the Recipient undertakes to perform pursuant <br /> to this Agreement with the Government. In the case of Federal <br /> financial assistance under section 9 of the Urban Mass <br /> Trans ortation Act of 1964 , as amended, "Project" includes <br /> P <br /> �� �� " Pro 'ect within the Pro ram" as may be <br /> Pro ram and each � g <br /> 9 <br /> appropriate. <br /> h. Project Budget means the most recently dated statement, <br /> approved by the Government, of the estimated total cost of the <br /> Project, the items to be deducted from such total in order to , <br /> calculate the estimated net project cost, the maximum amount of <br /> Federal assistance for which the Recipient is currently eligible, <br /> the specific items (including contingencies and relocation) for <br /> which the total may be spent, and the estimated cost of each of <br /> such items. <br /> i. Recipient means any entity that receives Federal assistance <br /> from UMTA for the accomplishment of the Project. The term <br /> "Recipient" includes "Grantee" and any entity to which Federal <br /> funds have been passed through for the accomplishment of the <br /> Project. <br /> j . Secretary means Secretary of the Department of Transportation <br /> or his or her duly authorized designee. <br /> k. UMTA means the Urban Mass Transportation Administration of the <br /> U. S. Department of Transportation. <br /> Section 102 . Accomplishment of the Project. <br /> a. General Rquirements. The Recipient shall commence, carry on, <br /> and complete the Project with all practicable dispatch, in a <br /> sound, economical, and efficient manner, and in accordance with <br /> the provisions hereof, the Application, and all applicable laws, <br /> regulations, UMTA directives and published policies. <br /> b. Pursuant to Federal, State, and Local Law. In performance of <br /> its obligations pursuant to this Agreement, the Recipient and its <br /> contractors agree to comply with all applicable provisions of <br /> Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and UMTA directives. <br /> The terms of the most recent amendment to any Federal, State, or <br /> local laws, regulations, UMTA directives, and amendments to the <br /> grant or cooperative agreement that may be subsequently adopted, <br /> are applicable to the Project to the maximum extent feasible, <br /> unless UMTA provides otherwise in writing. To the extent <br /> necessary to achieve compliance with these rquirements, the <br /> Recipient shall include notice of such requirements in all third <br /> party contracts, subgrants, and other sub-assistance agreements <br /> financed with UMTA assistance. Al1 limits or standards set forth <br /> in this Agreement to be observed in the performance of the <br /> Page 2 <br />
