, s .
LEGAL DEPARTMENT MEMORANDUM
NO. 94-8
July 14, 1994
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
FROM: 7ames C. Bacon, Jr., City Manager
Bruce A. McNabb, Director of Public Works
7ohn W. Couter, Corporation Counsel
RE: Sidewalk Vacation
The Public Building Commission has requested that the City vacate a portion of the
sidewalk on West Wood Street to accommodate the construction of a ramp required by federal
law in the remodeling of the former Ambassador Hotel. (See letter of Ed Booth, attorney for the
Commission.) Further, the Commission wishes to use a sub-surface vault for parking purposes,
which vault eends to the curbline. For these reasons Staff feels that this request should be
granted, and recommends approval of the vacation ordinance.
7WC:ps
Attachment
