• r � <br /> � ' <br /> ORDINANCE NO. � � -" � � <br /> ORDINANCE ADTHORIZING CONSUl�'PION OF AI�COHOLIC <br /> LIQIIOR ON PIIBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY <br /> SUl�II�ERSTAIrr FESTIVAL <br /> WHEREAS, SummerStart, a community festival, will be held on <br /> public streets beginning Saturday, May 29, 1993, and continuing <br /> through Monday, May 31, 1993; and, <br /> WHEREAS, it is the intention of SummerStart to offer beer <br /> for sale to its patrons for consumption at the Festival; and, <br /> WHEREAS, such consumption of alcoholic liquor on public <br /> rights-of-way requires the express approval of the City Council; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Council finds that it would be in the best <br /> interest of SummerStart and of the City of Decatur that such <br /> consumption of alcoholic liquor as described be permitted for <br /> said limited time period. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That on the days listed herein, and only on such <br /> days, between the hours listed opposite each, beer may be <br /> consumed at, in or on those portions of public right-of-way <br /> described in Section 2 hereof, said days and hours being <br /> particularly described as follows: <br /> Saturday, May 29, 1993 12 : 00 Noon - 10: 00 p.m. <br /> Sunday, May 30, 1993 12 : 00 Noon - 10: 00 p.m. <br /> Monday, May 31, 1993 12 : 00 Noon - 5: 30 p.m. <br /> Section 2 . That those portions of public right-of way at, <br /> in, or on which beer may be consumed, on the days and during the <br /> hours listed in Section 1 hereof, are described as follows: <br /> Lakeshore Drive from 16th Street to East Cantrell Street <br /> Section 3 . That between the hours of 5: 00 p.m. Friday, May <br /> 28, 1993 , and 6:00 a.m. , Tuesday, June l, 1993 , no person, firm <br /> or corporation having a Class A, B or C local liquor license <br /> issued pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 52 of the City Code <br /> and Chapter 43 of the Illinois Revised Statutes 1989 , for <br /> premises having frontage on those streets, or portions thereof, <br /> listed in Section 2 hereof, shall sell alcoholic liquor at retail <br /> for consumption on or off said premises at any location on said <br />
