ORDINANCE NO. � 3" � � <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE <br /> - SUMP PUMP AND ROOF DOWNSPOUT DRAINS - <br /> WHEREAS, on the 4th day of March, 1993 , upon due notice, <br /> the Decatur City Plan Commission held a public hearing on the <br /> petition of David A. Clark, Director of Community Development, to <br /> modify and amend the Subdivision Ordinance of the City of <br /> Decatur, the same being Ordinance No. 80-56, as amended, by <br /> adding thereto section 7-9-3 regarding sump pump and roof <br /> downspout drains; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Decatur City Plan Commission did report its <br /> finding and did recommend that said petition be granted and that <br /> the Subdivision Ordinance be so modified and amended. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the report and recommendations of the <br /> Decatur City Plan Commission be, and the same are hereby, <br /> received, placed on file and approved. <br /> Section 2 . That the Subdivision Ordinance of the City of <br /> Decatur be, and the same is hereby, modified and amended by <br /> adding Section 7-9-3 thereto, said Section 7-9-3 of said <br /> Subdivision Ordinance shall provide as follows: <br /> 7-9-3 . Whenever natural topography does not allow <br /> the flow of ground water from individual sump pumps to <br /> be directly discharged into a natural watercourse, the <br /> developer shall provide an underdrain system to provide <br /> an outlet for the discharges for said sump systems. The <br /> drain system shall consist of a six-inch rigid PVC pipe <br /> laid to a minimum depth of three feet six inches; the <br /> trench shall be backfilled with aggregate. Pipe and <br /> aggregate backfill shall be in accordance with the <br /> applicable provision of Section 607 of the "Standard <br /> Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, State <br /> of Illinois". Each lot will be provided with a two-inch <br /> riser pipe for future connection of a sump pump <br /> discharge line. Each riser's location shall be duly <br /> noted on record drawings provided by the developer. <br /> Section 3 . That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, <br /> authorized and directed to cause this ordinance to be published <br /> in pamphlet form. <br />
