  .
LEGAL DEPARTMENT MEMORANDUM
No. 93-7
March 25, 1993
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
FROM: James C. Baai, Jr. , City Manager
John W. Couter, Corporation Counsel
RE: Chapter 52 - Class F Licenses
Two weeks ago, the Council approved an amendment to Chapter
52 of the City Code regarding Class F liquor licenses . The
amendment broadened the application of this class so that a
icense could be issued to the Macon County Fairgrounds .
Unfortunately, the amendment was based on an outdated version of
the language defining Class F so that the amendment did not
include recent changes which (1) added "golf" to the list of
outdoor sports, (2) permitted the sale of alcoholic beverages
other than beer, and (3) eliminated the seasonal restriction on
sales . The ordinance before the Council for March 29th
accomplishes the goal of the previous amendment and includes all
prior changes to Class F. Staff apologizes for the earlier
error.
Staff recommends approval of this ordinance.
JWC:ps
