Smith, Environmental Pla ner <br /> SUBJECT: Compost Containers <br /> Attached find an ordinance relative to compost containers. <br /> This ordinance would delete the provisions for clear, <br /> biodegradable plastic compost bags and add provisions for <br /> 15 to 32 gallon metal or impact resistant water tight cans <br /> marked with an approved "yard waste only" sticker. <br /> A 35 pound weight limit will be attached to these <br /> containers. This is a safety precaution against overfilling <br /> of the containers to protect against worker injury. <br />
