ORDINANCE NO. /�O� ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE - CHAPTER 52 . 1 - - PLACES OF AMUSEMENT - WHEREAS, the presence of large numbers of patrons, both within places of amusement and on the public ways outside of such establishments during the early hours of the morning, has created a great disturbance to the citizens of the City of Decatur; and, WHEREAS, the presence of such patrons in such places of amusement at such hours, many of whom may be under the age of curfew, also impedes the effectiveness of the curfew regulaticns of the State of Illinois and exposes young people to the dangers of crime and exploitation; and, WHEREAS, the closing of such places of amusement during such hours would greatly help to eliminate the problems aforesaid; and, WHEREAS, the public and prominent posting of the license and hours of operation of such places of amusement would greatly aid in the enforcement of regulations concerning same. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Chapter 52 . 1 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, be, and the same is hereby, amended by adding thereto sections 16 and 17 at the end thereof, said sections 16 and 17 to provide as follows: "16. HOURS. No place of amusement shall be open . for business nor in operation, nor shall patrons or members thereof be, or be permitted to be or remain, thereat, between the hours of 2 : 00 A.M. and 6: 00 A.M. on any day. " "17. POSTING OF LICENSE AND HOURS OF OPERATION. Every person, firm or corporation licensed in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter shall immediately post and keep posted while in force, in a conspicuous place on the premises, the license so issued. Whenever such license shall be � ' lost or destroyed, a duplicate in lieu thereof ' shall be issued by the Licensing Supervisor upon the direction of the City Manager.
