Page 2 - Petition for Special Use Permit <br /> The purpose of the proposed Special Use Permit is: <br /> For the construction 8nd operation of a private use <br /> heliport per Section XXI A, 1, (a> <br /> In support of this request, the petitioner hereby submits to <br /> the City Planning Commission and City Council the following <br /> facts: <br /> The Petitioner seeks a variance in the nature of a <br /> special use permit to locate a private heliport at the <br /> aforementioned location so that the property can be used <br /> for the take-off and landing of a helicopter. <br /> The heliport would be used to facilitate the <br /> transportation of the Petitioners employees to and from <br /> their other corporate facilities in Burlington, Iowa, <br /> Springfield and euincy, Illnois and Terre Haute, Indiana and <br /> said point to point transportation would greatly increase <br /> the efficiency of the Petitioner's business operation. <br /> The Petitioner shall obtain approval for seid heliport <br /> from the Federal Aviation Administretion end the DEpartment ' <br /> of Transportation, Division of Aeronautics of the State of <br /> Illinois and adhere to their regulations governing the <br /> construction and operation of a restricted lending area <br /> heliport. <br /> The helicopter landing ped will conform to the best <br /> standards of safety and operation and no support facilities <br /> for maintenence or refueling of the helicopter will occur on <br /> or be located on the premises. <br /> There are no apparent or actual flight path <br /> obetructions which might pose hezerds to users of the <br /> heliport or surrounding properties. <br /> The heliport would be so designed, located and <br /> proposed to be operated so that the public health, safety <br /> and welfare will be protected and it will not cause in�ury <br /> to the value of other property in the neighborhood in which <br /> it is to be located. <br /> Attached to this document and labeled as Exhibit A is <br /> a site plan of the property showing the buildings and <br /> �,roposed heliport location on the Petitioners property. <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br />
