ORDINANCE VACATING PORTION OF A STREET - EAST NORTH STREET - WHEREAS, a request has been received from Wallace Laboratories, Inc. the owner of property abutting thereon, requesting the vacation by the City Council of that portion of a certain street in the City of Decatur, Illinois described as: Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 8, Block 7 of Prather Martin Gatling' s Addition, as per Plat recorded in Book 0 Page 553 of the records in the Recorder' s Office of Macon County, Illinois, thence South 12 feet, thence West and parallel to the south line of said Lot 8, a distance of 155.75 feet, thence North 12 feet to the Southwest corner of said Lot 8, thence East to the point oi beginning. � WHEREAS, said portion of said street is no longer useful to the public or to the City or to the owners of the property abutting thereon as a street; and, WHEREAS, the public interest will be subserved by vacating said portion of said street and the public will be relieved from thA further burden and responsibility of maintaining the same. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the above desc�ribed portion of said street be, and the same is hereby, vacated as a public street inasmuch as the same is no longer required for public use and the public interest wiil be subserved by such vacation, said portior. of such str�et being shown on the plat thereof hereto attached and hereby made a part hereof. Section 2. That the benefits which will be accrued to the owner of abutting property by reason of the vacation aforesaid is determined to be, in the judgment of the Council, equal to the sum of One Thousand Two Hundred Forty Dollars ($1 ,240 . 00) .
