� .� � , �. • ORDINANCE NO. -� Z�� AN ORDINANCE VACATING PORTION OF AN ALLEY - NORTH SIDE OF 100 BLOCK WEST JOHNSON STREET - WHEREAS, a request has been received from Paul Edwards, the owner of all property abutting thereon requesting vacation by the City Council of a portion of that alley located in the 100 Block West Johnson Street in the City of Decatur, Illinois, said portion of said alley being more particularly described as: Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 2 of F. M. Gaddis Addition as per plat recorded in Book 149 Page � 584 of the records in the Recorder' s Office of Macon County, Illinois, thence East 16 feet to the East Right-of-Way of alley, thence North to the South ' Right-of-Way line of the Illinois Central Railroad, � thence Westerly to the Northeast corner of Lot One (1) I of said Addition, thence South to the point of � beginning; and, WHEREAS, said portion of said alley is no longer useful to the public or to the City or to the owners of property abutting thereon as an alley; and, WHEREAS, the public interest will be subserved by vacating said portion of said alley and the public will be relieved from any further burden or responsibility for maintaining said portion of said alley. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DEC�TUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the above-described portion of said alley be, and the same is hereby, vacated as a public alley effective and upon the exceptions and conditions hereinafter pr�vided, inasmuch as the same is no longer required for public use and the public interest will be subserved by said vacation, said portion of said alley being shown en the plat thereof hereto attached and hereby made a part hereof.
