. <br /> ORDINANCE NO. � ✓ � �� <br /> AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY <br /> - 1431 WEST MOUND ROAD - <br /> WHEREAS, there having been filed with the City Clerk, and by <br /> said Clerk presented to the Council herewith, the petition under <br /> oath of F. Marion Tharp and Ada L. Tharp requesting that there be <br /> annexed to the City territory described as: <br /> Beginning at a point 492 feet East and 40 feet North of <br /> a stone at the Southwest corner of the Southeast Quarter <br /> (SE1/4) of Section Twenty-Eight (28) , Township Sev�nteen <br /> (17) North, Range Two (2) East of the 3rd P.M. , thence <br /> North 170 feet, thence East 180 feet, thence South 170 <br /> feet, thence West 180 feet to the place of beginning; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, it appears said petition is signed by the owners of <br /> record of all land within such territory and by at least 51� of <br /> the electors residing therein, and that said territory is <br /> contiguous to the City and not within the corporate limits of any <br /> city, village or incorporated town or other municipality; and, <br /> WHEREAS, notice of intention to take action for annexation <br /> has been given as reguired. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF <br /> DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section l. That said petition and the request thereof be, <br /> and the same are hereby, approved. <br /> Section 2. That said territory hereinabove described, along <br /> with all parts of public highways therein or next and adjacent <br /> thereto not heretofore annexed, if any, be, and the same are <br /> hereby, an:�exed to and are incorporated into the limits of the <br /> City of Decatur, Illinois, a municipal corporation. <br />
