4
  )
EXCERPTS FROM THE TRAFFIC & PARKING COMMISSION MINUTES
OCTOBER 11, 1989
Item #1 Police Request - Parking Restriction
Willard and Vanderhoof - 1400 Block East
Mr. Carroll explained that Officer Carr, the liaison officer
at Eisenhower High School had requested that this parking
restriction be put into effect.
Lt. Williams stated that it was his understanding that park-
ing is not necessarily the problem, it is the problems associated
with parking such as litter, etc.
The same type of ordinance has already been used in the 1500
Blocks of Willard and Vanderhoof. Mr. Carroll said we have had
no complaints recently and that the only time we do have com-
plaints is when a house changes hands , then a new r.esident will
complain.
Mr. Schiller commented that sometimes contractors will be '
inconvenienced by this type of ordinance, but he was told by Lt.
Williams to simply contact the police department for permission
to park in a restricted area during working hours.
Lt Williams moved and M- ;. Coulter seconded a motion to
follow taff recommendation tc ban parking from 11 : a.m. to
1 : 00 p.m, in the 1400 blocks of Willard and Vanderhoof. The mo-
tion was unanimously carried.
