ORDINANCE N0. � / � �9 � ORDINANCE ORDERING THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS - POLICE TACTICAL UNIT - WHEREAS, by annual appropriation ordinance , No. 89-50 , for the fiscal year beginning May 1 , 1989 , certain items of appropriations were made within the departments of the City of Decatur, Illinois; and, WHEREAS, the Council of said City now desires to establish, on a trial basis, a tactical unit in the Police Service of the Safety Services Department to determine whether such a unit is viable and whether such a unit can contribute to the reduction of crime within said City; and, WHEREAS, it is necessary to transfer funds, as appropriated, from Non-Departmental Expenditures to the Safety Services Department in order to establish said unit; and, WHEREAS, the City of Decatur, Illinois, is a home rule unit of government, as established by the Constitution of the State of Illinois. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1 . That the appropriation authority established by the appropriation ordinance aforesaid be, and it is hereby, modified and amended by transferring such authority from one item of appropriation to the other item of appropriation, as set out herein: NON-DEPARTMENTAL EXPENDITURES ($3 ,717 ,888) ' 01-49200 From: Other Charges $99 ,920 SAFETY SERVICES DEPARTMENT ($11 ,807 ,770) 01-45146 To: Personal Services $99 ,920
