ORDINANCE NO. ��. s ORDINANCE VACATING PORTION OF AN ALLEY BETWEEN ILLINOIS CENTRAL RAILROAD TRACK AND WEBSTER ST. WHEREAS, a request has been received from T. A. Brinkoetter & S n P o s lumbing & Heating, the owner of property abuttin g thereon, requesting the vacation by the City Council of that portion of a certain alley in the City of Decatur, Illinois described as : Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot Fifteen (15) Block Seven (7) of B. H. Cassell ' s Addition as recorded in Book 6 Page 148 of the records in the Recorder' s Office of Macon County, Illinois, thence North 14 feet to the South line of Lot Eight (8) of DHA 6th Addition as recorded in Book 1832 Page 268 of the records in the Recorder' s Office of Macon County, Illinois , thence West to the East right-of-way line of the Illinois Central Railroad, thence Southwesterly to the North line of Lot Sixteen (16) Block Seven (7) of said B. H. Cassell' s � Addition, thence East to the POB. WHEREAS, said portion of said alley is no longer useful to the public or to the City or to the owners of the property abutting thereor. as an alley; and, WHEREAS, the public interest will be subserved by vacating said portion of said alley and the public will be relieved from the further burden and responsibility of maintaining the same. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the above described portion of said alley be, and the same is hereby, vacated as a public alley inasmuch as the same is no longer required for public use and the public interest will be subserved by such vacation, said portion of such alley being shown on the plat thereof hereto attached and hereby made a part hereof, PRESENTED, PASSED, APPROVED AND RECORDED this 3rd day of ' April, 1989 . � MAYOR ATTEST: C Y CL RK
