(e) To arrest or cause to be arrested, with or without _ <br /> process, all persons who break the peace, or who are found <br /> violating any municipal code or any criminal law of the State; _ <br /> (f) To commit arrested persons for examination; <br /> (g) When necessary, to detain arrested persons in custody <br /> until they can be brought before the proper court; <br /> (h) To exercise all other powers as conservators of the <br /> peace as may be from time to time prescribed by statute; and, <br /> (i) To serve and execute process for the violation of <br /> municipal ordinances or of any criminal law of the State within <br /> the corporate limits of the City and for this purpose to have all <br /> the common law and statutory power of sheriffs. <br /> 14 . FIREARMS. Such auxiliary policemen shall not carry <br /> firearms except with the permission of the Police Chief and then <br /> only while in uniform and in the performance of their duties. <br /> 15 . TRAINING. Such auxiliary policemen prior to entering - <br /> upon any of their duties shall receive a course of training in <br /> the use of weapons and other police procedures as shall be <br /> appropriate in the exercise of the powers conferred upon them <br /> hereunder which training and course of study shall be determined <br /> and provided by the Police Chief and which shall be reasonably <br /> sufficient to equip such auxiliary policemen to perform their <br /> duties and which course of training shall be not less than a <br /> total of sixty (60) hours in duration. The Police Chief shall <br /> file with the City Clerk a certificate attesting to the <br /> successful completion of such training by each auxiliary <br /> policeman before such auxiliary policeman enters upon any duty. <br /> 16. COMPENSATION. Auxiliary policemen shall be compensated <br /> for attendance at Court, under subpoena, in any proceedings <br /> directly related to and growing out of their service as auxiliary <br />
