, i
. .
.
COUNCIL MEMORANDUM I
#88-131
December 28 , 1988
To: The Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
From: James C. Baon, Jr. , City Manager

RE: Ordinance Amending Chapter 66 of the City Code
An ordinance providing for an amendment to Chapter 66 of the
City Code - Regulations of Lake Decatur - has been placed on the
agenda for Tuesday, January 3 , 1989 .
This ordinance amends Section 19 (d) which establishes fees
for boat licenses.
The study and report on fees submitted to the City Council
in October, 1986 , provided for increasing these fees over a three
year period beginning with calendar year 1987. The fee schedules
recommended for 1987 and 1988 were adopted and implemented.
The fee revisions
contained in this ordinance rovide for
 . P
the third phase of the proposed increases in fees. These fees ,
if approved, would be effective for 1989.
The three fe _
e schedules recommended in 1986 to be im le
P
mented for 1987, 1988 and 1989 shoull provide sufficient revenue
by 1990 so that the Lake Patrol Division would be supported by
income derived from users of the Lake. Currently, other revenue
deposited to the credit of the General Fund help support the Lake
Patrol Division.
The fee schedules recommended are very reasonable when com-
pared to similar fees imposed by other owners of public lakes in
Illinois.
I recommend your approval of this crdinance.
cc: Acting Chief Hunk
Phyllis Sands
