 c ,
COUNCIL MEMORANDUM
#87-133
December 16 , 1987
TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
FROM: Leslie T. Allen, City Manager
RE: Ordinance Amending Chapter 66 of the City Code
An ordinance providing for amendments to ChaptEr 66 of the
City Code - Regulations of Lake Decatur - has been placed on the
agenda for Monday, December 21.
This ordinance amends Sections 17 . 3 , 17 . 6 and 45 of Chapter
66 which establishes fees for boats and dock permits .
The study and report on fees submitted to the City Council
in October, 1986 , provided for increasing these fees over a three
year period beginning with calendar year 1987 .
The fee schedules recommended for 1987 were adopted and
implemented in January, 1987 .
The fee revisions contained in this ordinance provide for
the second phase of the proposed increases in fees . Thes fees ,
if approved, would be effective for 1988 .
The three fee schedules recommended in 1986 to be
implemented for 1987 , 1988 and 1989 should provide sufficient
revenue by 1990 so that the Lake Patrol Division would be self-
supporting from ir.come derived from users of the Lak.
Currently, other revenue deposited to the credit o.f the
General Fund help support the Lake Patrol Division.
The fee schedules recommended are very reasonable when
compared to similar faes imposed by other owner_5 of public lakes
in Illinois .
I recommend your approval of this ordinance.
cc: Pat Vaughan
Phyllis Sands
