'.. tR ' ��Li��J ORDINANCE N0. �7- � 3 I ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE REGARDING TI-iE USE OF BICYCLES, SKATEBOARDS AND ROLLER SKATES ON SIDEWALKS - CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT - BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1 . That Chapter 39 of the City Code of the City of Decatur be, and the same is hereby, modified and amended by amending Sections 16 and 17 therevf and adding Section 18 thereto , said Sections, as so amended and added , to provide as foilows: lb. The operation and use of bicycles, roller skates, skateboards, scooters and all other similar devices propelled by human power , but excluding wheelchairs, strollers or baby carriages, and push carts, be, and the same is hereby prohibited upon, and no person shall use, operate or ride on such vehicles or devices on, any public sidewalk located in the following described area, as well as that area commonly known as Central Park : That area bounded on the north by the north right- of-way line of Eldorado Street, on the west by the west right-of-way line of Church Street , on the south by the south right-of-way line of Wood Street , and on the east by the east right-of-way line of Broadway Street , renamed as Martin Luther King Jr . Drive. For purposes of this section, "sidewalk" shall have the meaning ascribed to it in Chapter 30 of the City Code. 17. Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this Chapter shall , upon conviction, be fined not less than Five Dollars (�5.00) nor more than Two Hundred Dollars (�200.00) for each offer�se, and each day on which a violation occurs or continues shall be considered as a separate offense. � 18. Any violation of either Section 1 , 6, 7, 9, 10 or 13 is hereby declared to be a nuisance and may be abated as such in addition to any fine or penalty ' imposed . I
