� � ,,� • - � �ICROf��EC ORDINANCE NO. �� AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF A STREET - ELLEN AVENUE - WHEREAS, a request has been received from Thomas L. Thompson and others, the owners of all property abutting thereon, requesting vacation of a portion of that certain street in the Citv of Decatur, Illinois, commonly known as Ellen Avenue, said pnrtion of said street being more particularly described as : Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 22 of Pritchett ' s Subdivision as recorded in Book 335 Page 427 in the records of the Recorder' s Off ice of Macon County, Illinois, thence West 50 feet to the Southeast corner of Lot 23 of said Addition, thence North to the Northeast corner of said Lot 23 , thence East 50 feet to the Northwest corner of said Lot 22, thence south to the point of beginning. WHEREAS, said portion of said street is no longer useful to the public or to the City or to the owners of property abutting thereon and the pubiic interest will be subserved by vacating said portion of said s�reet and the public will be relieved from any further burden or responsibility for opening, impr�ving or maintaining said portion of said street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the above described portion of said Ellen Avenue be, and the same is hereby, vacated as a public street upon the condition hereinafter provided inasmuch as the same is no longer required for public use and the public iz�terest will be subserved by such vacation, said portion of said street being shown on the plat thereof hereto attached and hereby made a part hereof. Section 2. That the benefits which will be accrued to the owners of abutting property by reason of the vacation aforesaid is determined to be, in the judgment of the Council, equal to the sum of $100.00 .
