Thompson <br /> and others, the owners of all property abutting thereon, <br /> requesting vacation of a portion of that certain -street in the <br /> City of Decatur, Illinois , commonly known as Ellen Avenue, said <br /> portion of said street being more particularly described as : <br /> Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 22 of <br /> Pritchett ' s Subdivision as recorded in Book 335 Page <br /> 427 in the records of the Recorder' s Office of Macon <br /> County, Illinois, thence West 50 feet to the Southeast <br /> corner of Lot 23 of said Addition, thence North to the <br /> Northeast corner of said Lot 23 , thence East 50 feet to <br /> the Northwest corner of said Lot 22, thence south to <br /> � the point of beginning. <br /> WHEREAS, said portion of said street is no longer useful to <br /> the public or to the City or to the owners of property abutting <br /> thereon and the public interest will be subserved by vacating <br /> said portion of said street and the public will be relieved from <br /> any further burden or responsibility for opening, improving or <br /> maintaining said portion of said street. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section l. That the above described portion of said Ellen <br /> Avenue be, and the same is hereby, vacated as a public street <br /> upon the condition hereinafter provided inasmuch as the same is <br /> no longer required for public use and the public interest will be <br /> subserved by such vacation, said portion of said street being <br /> shown on the plat thereof hereto attached and hereby made a part <br /> hereof . <br /> Section 2 . That the benefits which will be accrued to the <br /> owners of abutting property by reason of the vacation aforesaid <br /> is determined to be, in the judgment of the Council, equal to the <br /> sum of $100 .00 . <br />
