�`��L�D <br /> ORDINANCE NO. � (D — �o I <br /> ORDINANCE EXTENDING ABATEMENT OF REAL PROPERTY <br /> TAXES WITHIIV ENTERPRISE ZONE <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS : <br /> Section 1. That Ordinance No. 82-122 passed the 29th day of <br /> December, 1982, and subsequently amended by Ordinance No. 85-01, <br /> be, and the same is hereby further amended at Sections 5 and 6 <br /> thereof so that as so amended said sections provide as follows : <br /> Section 5 . That commencing with the first calendar <br /> year next following the calendar year in which the zone is <br /> certified, and continuing through 19�6, taxes on real <br /> property levied by the City shall be abated on property <br /> located within the zone and upon which new improvements have <br /> been constructed subsequent to such certification or upon <br /> which existing improvements have been renovated or <br /> rehabilitated subsequent to such certification, provided <br /> that any abatement of taxes on any parcel shall not exceed <br /> the amount attributable to the construction of the <br /> improvements or the renovation or rehabilitation of existing <br /> improvements on such parcel. <br /> Section 6 . After the calendar year 1996 , such <br /> abatement shall continue for the term of the zone unless the I', <br /> Council shall otherwise ordain as to any or all calendar <br /> years thereafter, subject to the approval of the Illinois !, <br /> Department of Commerce and Community Affairs . <br /> Section 2 .
